"Shoestring Theory - Let's Make a Movie!"
Stuart McBratney's last feature film, "Pop-Up", was made on a micro budget. Upon completion in 2016, it was selected for 18 film festivals in 12 countries, secured international distribution, and lead to top-level Hollywood representation.
Like many filmmakers, he kept a production diary. But rather than merely recording his day-to-day experiences, he analysed the problem solving process as the basis of a PhD thesis.
In this presentation, Stuart will take us through his 30-year development as a filmmaker, and teach you how to write, direct, and produce your own feature film on a tiny budget. And he'll share the unique insights he gleaned during his doctoral research.
He'll finish up with a sneak preview of his third feature, "Don't Read This on a Plane", which he'll start shooting in May.
